Trustpilot

Trustpilot imports through the Trustpilot API. Both service reviews (about your business) and product reviews are supported.

Setup

  1. Open the app dashboard and add Trustpilot as a source.
  2. Enter your Trustpilot API Key, API Secret, and Business Unit ID.
  3. Select your Product identifier (product reviews) — controls how reviews link to Shopify products:
    • SKU (default) — matches by variant SKU
    • Barcode — matches by variant barcode
    • Shopify GID — matches by Shopify global ID
    • Numeric ID — matches by Shopify numeric product ID
  4. Start an initial sync from the dashboard.

Find your API credentials and Business Unit ID in your Trustpilot Business account.

Sync

  • Run a Full sync or Incremental sync from the Trustpilot platform card to pull reviews.
  • Check sync status and history in the dashboard after each run.

Real-time updates (webhooks)

Keep reviews current without manual syncs:

  1. Copy the Webhook URL shown on the Trustpilot platform card.
  2. In Trustpilot, subscribe to New / Updated / Deleted events for the matching review type (Service or Product) and paste in that URL.

New, updated and deleted reviews then flow in automatically.

Notes

  • Service reviews carry no product link; they are stored as store-level reviews.
  • Keep your product identifier consistent — mixing types in one source leaves reviews unlinked.

Troubleshooting

  • If sync fails, re-check the API Key, API Secret and Business Unit ID.
  • If product reviews import without product links, try a different Product identifier and re-sync.
  • If counts seem low, run another full sync after confirming the data exists on Trustpilot’s side.
